Calder Clay Comments on the Passing of "The Father of the Modern Republicans"

WARNER ROBINS,GA-Calder Clay, Republican candidate for Georgia's 3rd Congressional District, joins the nation in mourning the loss of the nation's 40th President, Ronald Reagan, who passed away on Saturday.

Reagan's great love for the United States and his eternal optimism for its future earned him the respect and love of the nation. "It was a sad hour for America" states Clay, "I have utmost admiration for President Reagan's unwavering faith in conservative American values and the character of our people."

Calder Clay also pays tribute to the huge impact that President Reagan had on the political world. "Reagan gave rise to a new generation of conservatives, challenging democrats to redefine themselves while reshaping the Republican party."

"President Reagan made it popular to wave the American flag again by restoring the faith American people had in our country. He renewed our nation's confidence by ridding the world of the communist threat while leading the United States to a Cold War victory."

"I have great respect for Reagan's ability to reform the Republican party, our nation and the world while maintaining constant optimism and patriotism along with a friendly and modest demeanor," states Clay.
