It's The Soldier

"It's The soldier, not the court, that has given us freedom

of speech. It is the soldier, not the agitator, who has

given us the freedom to protest. It is the soldier who

salutes the flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is

draped by the flag, who gives that protester the freedom

he abuses to burn that flag." - Senator Zell Miller

Johnny Grant Takes State Senate Seat

Georgia State Senate District 25
85 of 85 precincts - 100 percent

Johnny Grant Rep 29,314 - 52 percent

Faye Smith (i) Dem 26,938 - 48 percent

Johnny Grant: I can tell you from past experience that it feels a whole lot better to be the winner.

Carol and I thank each of you for the support you gave the Grant for Senate campaign. You were awesome and I could not have won without your help.

Your efforts are greatly appreciated whether you helped out by making a financial contribution, calling your friends, forwarding emails, walking your neighborhood, or praying for me.

It has been a pleasure to get to know the people of this area. I am honored to be the Senator-elect from Georgia's 25th District and I look forward to the opportunity to serve you for the next two years. Let me know if there are concerns or issues that I can help you with.

Again I extend my thanks for your vote and support.

Johnny

The Union-Recorder - Amy H. Mullis:

Grant said he intends to be attentive to the needs...

"I think that I'm actually in a better position to be able to help in Baldwin County than Senator Smith was," he said. "With the state Senate being under Republican leadership at this point, the state House being under Republican leadership, and the governor being a Republican, it puts me in a position where I can be much more effective serving this area than my opponent."

Grant said regardless of who individual voters supported, he wants to serve all constituents in District 25.

"I want the people that supported Senator Smith to know that they can call on me," he said. "I will be responsive, and I will work to serve them as well as the people that supported me. I will be the senator for the entire 25th district - not just the Republican portion, not just the portion who voted for me."
