Georgia Lawmakers Comment on Georgia Military Bases
Today at the Georgia State House, Senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson, and Governor Perdue, commented on the Department of Defense recommendation to close Naval Air Station Atlanta, Ft. McPherson, Ft. Gillem, and the Athens Naval Supply School.
Chambliss said the recommendations will be met with strong opposition from Georgia’s congressional delegation, the Governor and Georgia communities because the bases contribute to the national security of the United States.
